Swim School

Swami Swim School

The Swami Swim School was founded in 2019 to bring swimming lessons and water safety to the underrepresented youth of Salt Lake's westside. Swimming is not just fun. It is a lifelong safety skill.

Classes hold no more than five students of similar ability, so the approach stays personal and it works. Levels run from complete beginner up to swimmers who are nearly ready for the pre-competitive group. Lessons are at the Granger High School pool in a dedicated 12.5 yard area no deeper than three feet, with steps for easy entry and exit; stronger students graduate into the main pool. All ages welcome.

Swami Swim School

Learn-to-swim for westside children, generally ages 4 to 12, at Granger High School. Financial assistance is available and for some families the sessions are free.

Swami Masters

Adult swim lessons, started in 2025 by popular demand from Swami parents and the community. Six-week sessions of thirty minute classes, one evening a week. Every session so far has filled to capacity.

Neighborhood House

A long-running partnership with the westside daycare centre. An after-school swim program, once a week, for children aged 6 and up, covering basic water safety and fundamental skills. The centre handles transport. Hundreds of children have come through it since 2013, and some became Swamis.

Registering

Sessions open a few times a year and fill quickly. Call or text Minerva Huerta at 801-618-9807 or email info@raceswami.org to ask what is open and to get on the list.
