Our Impact

Race Swami develops a new generation of leaders by supporting the emotional, academic and physical well-being of its student-athletes. The results since 2011 speak for the model.

Where our Swamis go

Our alumni have gone on to UCSB, Whitworth University, the University of New Mexico, the University of Charleston, the United States Naval Academy, the University of Utah Honors program, Utah State University and more. Most receive substantial academic scholarships, and nearly all keep swimming, a lifelong sport they mastered here.

Our priority outcomes

College and career ready
Excite our students about learning and give them a reason to picture themselves at a university or in a career they want.
Engaged in their own education
Keep students invested in their academic work, with tutoring and mentoring that meets each one where they are.
Real opportunity
Encourage student-athletes to apply to strong programs at area high schools such as the West IB Program and the East High Honors Program, and take them on field trips, campus tours and our Speaker Series.
Good citizens
Every one of our high school students performs annual community service. Service hours come with the territory here.
Healthy for life
Teach healthy lifestyle choices through swimming, mindfulness and personal fitness training, so the habits outlast the sport.
A team that reflects the westside
Our swimmers come from Rose Park, Glendale, Poplar Grove, Guadalupe Park, Fairpark and Marmalade, plus West Valley City, South Salt Lake, Sandy, Midvale and Millcreek. More than five languages are spoken on this team.

What families tell us

“Race Swami has been a life changer for my two kids. Now, they have confidence in everything they do. It is just a total life changer.”

Race Swami parent

“Without Race Swami my kids would not have this athletic outlet, as it is very expensive to support kids these days. My kids are safe, happy, and becoming very good swimmers. They love it. Our family cannot say thank you enough.”

Race Swami parent

“I love attending all the swim meets. It's another opportunity for all of us to come together, cheering for our Swami kids. Even though the shirts are all different colors and designs, we still look like one team with one ideal: that we are family and very, very proud.”
